The songs are the final markers of the ideas, which I sometimes struggle with. That the posterity or remnants of all the first drafts and failed attempts, demo versions and lost verses get locked up or thrown away feels like such a binary and uninteresting way to consume art/observation/commentary.
It also feels adjacent to the type of throwaway and open approach I’m trying these days. Post children I give less fucks about how other people see me and many more fucks about how I see myself. So to only promote or document the end project feels inauthentic and reminiscent of the before.
Although I’m not quite sure how this all works, the method intrigues me and I will endeavour to use this platform as some sort of a creative output. Join me, if you like.
